Orothopaedic health camp: Making no bones about it
We normally take our bones for granted. But as we age, lifetime of neglect and indifference begin to take a toll on our bones. Taking care of them early on in life is essential to keeping them healthy and strong. With just this in mind, Medical Relief Society, one of the wings of the Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat of Udaipur, along with Mewar Orthopaedic Hospital organised a camp on April 26, 2009.
The aim of the camp was to educate people about the importance of the bones and show them ways to take good care of them. The participating doctors also provided free checkups to about 160 delegates.
Colonel (Rtd.) Sirajuddin, Chairman of Udaipur Urban Co-operative Bank was the chief guest of the function. He praised the Society for providing healthcare services to the Bohra community. He assured the Society and the community of continued and complete support of the bank.
President of the Society, Anees Miyaji, gave a brief introduction about the Society and its activities. He also stressed the importance of Mewar Orthopaedic Hospital in the area of healthcare in Udaipur.
Dr. Manish Chaparwal of Mewar Orthopaedic Hospital explained various ways of taking care of ones bones in order to keep them healthy and prolong their life. He provided free checkup and consultancy to the delegates. Dr. Devshree Chaparwal gave an audio-visual presentation on human anatomy and bones.
One of the members of the Society, Shakila Germanwala introduced the Chaparwal couple by way of a brief profile and highlighted their contribution to the community. The couple received a shawl and a memento from the Society and a standing ovation from the delegates.
Liyaqat Amar (Secretary, Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat), Hussain Udaipur (Joint Secretary) and Hibtullah Attari (Zonal Secretary, CBDBC) were also present on the occasion.
The days activities started with Tilawate-Quran by Zarina Kasimnathji Wala. Yusuf Ali RG was the host of the function which was concluded by a thank you note from Hussain Udaipuri.
