if amil is eating kharas he is not doing any crime and there is no reason to abuse for such small thing, but yes momeenin should also be given freedom to break fast with at least food of their choice so that they feel better for next rozas, and the spirit of Ramadan remains fresh.

Sorry to say our community has gone really way out of all basics. In Sattad there is a process of registration for namaz which is then allocated for fast movement and smooth functioning. The worse is the method of allocation which is by categories of all families starting from A to E. Where A is the best and E is the worst and these categories are decided based on how much amount you pay them as per your old record. In a way the place for namaz is decided and given by payments...... sorry to say this is not Islam. Some people go daily all 3times be it Ramzan or no Ramzan but are not given place in Masjid as they do not pay as per the desired limits set for the categories.

The expectation is to give same amount last year, or more. Correct?

Ask yourself, and your husband/wife,
1. how much your faith and sense of spirituality is, as compared to last year.
2. How much you have suffered as a result of the succession dispute.
3. How has your faith and imaan improved and strengthened this past year.
4. And how much SMS and the current leadership has contributed to the decline in your faith.

Based on that here is an example from last year:
Wajebaat amount given = 100 (whatever currency)
Faith in SMB assume to be 100%
No problem here.

This year if your faith in the current claimant of Daiship has been declined in anyway, if your suffering and turmoil has increased, due to spiritual reasons or pressures on finances, family, fear, etcs, then adjust the Percentage accordingly in decline to your LOSS in faith.

This is just my way of building a case for myself for reduced dues for wajebaat. Surely, in all fairness, we ought to consider the dues we must pay for our desire to "just belong socially as a Dawoodi Bohra", if that is indeed what we chose to do.

But don't unnecessarily feel morally obligated and fool yourself into thinking you are paying zakaat to those who have hijacked your faith, and continue to bully you fear of Allah's wrath.

Pay wajebaat in direct formula to your faith and benefits, no more - no less.

I wasn't thinking along those lines, but I get your point. I'm really just wanting to stay true to myself and really Question everything I do. Instead of just reacting as a robot, or doing things out of fear.

Whereas in the not so distant past, I willingly wanted to give more and more, as my faith seemed to get stronger and stronger. Now I feel so betrayed, and realize how much of a monkey they made out of me.

I hope people really take the formula into consideration, before being on auto pilot.

It seems that Shz MS and Kothar are now taking zakaat in different entities than before. He is siphoning money into trusts that he will control even after he is proved to be the false claimant.

One brave soul has taken on the Kolkata Jamaat. The Aamil is instructing people to deposit vajebaat in a local trust account and not the Dawat Hadiyah main trust which has the Dai al-Mutlaq as sole trustee.
