I understand the presence of Aqeeqah Ritual in Islam and bohra faith, please explain the following practice !
Why is Blood of the Sacrificed Animal ( goat/ sheep) smeared on the forehead of the new born ?
I m of understanding that, Blood is haraam on mulims, it is not a halal component of consumption in any manner. Also blood contains parasites and carrier of viruses and bacteria. A new born skin and immune system is sensitive, It may cause rashes or complications.
Why is the shaved hair and nail of the new born and bones of the scarifced animal buried underground ?
Why is mother of the new born exempted / restricted from consuming the sacrificed animal meat ?
It belelieved that, if they consume the meat, they have a “bhaar” (burden) on her soul and must pay “kaffarat” to get rid of this “Bhaar”.Another belief, if she consumes such meat, she may face problems in lactation.
Can the following belief in some bohras be confirmed as Authentic Bohra Belief ?
The “rooh” (soul) of the sacrificed animal, with mercy of Allah, protects the new born in this world !
Also on occasion of buying an asset, bohras sacrifice halal animal and smear the walls with blood stained palm prints. A popular belief, says that it keeps the “evil” away from those assets ( property, vehicles, etc)
Bohra Aqeeqah
Re: Bohra Aqeeqah
recently my child aqeeqah was done, we just removed his hairs ( it is good to remove hairs for scientific reasons as well)
then I told my dad in India to slaughter 2 sheep's in the name of ALLAH and distribute it in poor muslims/bohras.
Aqeeqah is done.
that's it.
{ main reason to slaughter goat and sheep is to feed poor people and seek their blessings and dua for new born} every thing else if add ups.

About why the mother does not eat the meat, I thought it is because the sacrifice is generally not consumed by the person for whom it's done and if the mother is breastfeeding then the idea is that by eating the meat she will then indirectly feed it to the baby?
Re: Bohra Aqeeqah
It is more like a party of sorts. It has its traditional dishes. Remember the thing about breaking bones. Damn it, you already killed an animal so whats with breaking bones.
I am still wondering how did Noah get those panda bears and where did he collect mulberry leaves.

And ya'll also know that the bones of the slaughtered goat shouldn't be broken in any circumstances and these bones are to be buried. The question is here would you bury them bones in a city like Mumbai? Then you have to go through a channel of real butchers who slaughter you for money. Them beliefs and them blind. Paid 5 grand to bury them bones! Why did i do it? Family comes firstly,
