Re: Glossary of words for the new members of site
There is an android application called Qamoos created by Aliasgar Dahodwala. It is a dictionary of Lisan-e-Dawat. Look it up in Play Store.DisillusionedDB wrote:Hadiyat is for the 'shaikh' title if I am not mistaken. Mafsuhiyat (not sure about spelling) is for 'mulla' title. And generally NKD MKD is referred to as 'laqab'.Dumbledore wrote:Hadiyat: The title of NKD MKD NDI etc granted to abdes who are rich in wealth not deen
NDI title - I am hearing for the first time.
Could someone who knows tell me what NKD MKD stand for and what do they mean ?
The following are from Qamoos:
Mafsuhiyat - مفسوحية - Rank in Dawat, presumably Mulla
Hadiyat - حدية - Rank of Sheikh
NKD (Nashit fi Khidmat id-Dawat) - ناشط في خدمة الدعوة - Active in the Service of Dawat. ناشط alone is listed.
MKD and NDI are not listed in Qamoos.
This compilation will serve as a Skeptic's Dictionary of Lisan-e-Dawat. But Qamoos is the Real Mccoy.

Bhai khokawala, since you starts this thread, would it be fair to ask Admin to sort it? Once sorted, you can request him to pin it , or stickie it, or better still, you can have have someone develop an app like Qamoos.khokawala wrote:I request the admin now to pin the thread after sorting it
Just my 2 cents.
