Dear Friends, light side of my comment was meant for zealots like Quiam and Mumeenin110 who consider a mortal individual, an insignificant religious figure of a microscopic community, a divine and superhuman. In spite of the facts that this mortal individual has made many mistakes, apologized for his mistakes, they still consider him infallible.
Please understand that the religious leaders like Pope Paul, Dalai Lama, Shankar Acharya, Agakhan, and Sunni-Shia Muslim Ulemas who have much bigger followings than our Sayedna. We are microscopic in front them. These religious leaders provide religious guidance to their followers sitting at one place. No one runs round the world like Sayedna Saheb. No one indulges in glorifying his personality. No one spends a fortune on his publicity. No one compels his followers every now and than to gather at far away places like USA, Egypt and Iraq just to show his strength. No one has such strong grip over his followers that they are afraid to criticize even the most ordinary person in hierarchy. Followers of other religions speak out, write and question their religious head and their administration in open in a democratic way.

Whatever prestige we have as Dawoodi Bohras is because of our past history. We were truly religious, god fearing, honest, enterprising and hardworking. Because our Dais before Sayedna Taher Saifuddin Saheb, were poor, simple and got fearing. Our Dais never indulged in dirty worldly politics. They never wasted community’s hard earned money on their family welfare and false publicity stunts. They used to encourage their followers to spend their surplus wealth in the way of god as preached by Quran. Numbers of mosques, mausoleums, musafarkhanas, Jamaat khanas, hostels and rabats were built in their time because of then Dais’ pursuance. Our 51st and 52nd Dais have not added an inch in these properties. On the contrary they have sold or misappropriated most of these properties for their personal benefit. Because of the present selfish policy of Kothar today no one now comes forward to do anything for the community. Whatever has been done earlier has now become a source of huge income for Dai as he is carrying on booming RECONSTRUCTION activities on them. Earlier Dais never claimed ownership of these community properties and never closed their doors on any Bohra.
They were true followers of Ahle-bayet and hated the luxurious life of Banu-Umayyads. And so were their followers. Things are fast deteriorating now.

The word ‘insignificant’ for Bohra Religious head used by me was not through oversight. It is because he has never bother to do anything for the suffering humanity. Not only that he has never uttered a word suffering humanity. Take for example the American attack on Iraq. Pope Paul immediately issued a statement condemning Iraq war and appealing for Christian Muslim unity. Shia leader Qalbe-Sadiq and Sunni Muslim leader Maulana Wahiduddin Khan are trying their best to resolve Babri Masjid issue. Sayedna has not even condemned its demolition. Sheikh Yusif Al-Qaradawi a well-known authority on Islan in the Arab World has been constantly writing on modern issues faced by Muslims such as Riba (interest), mortgage, and alcohol content in modern medicines. Thee are many such examples. When Bombay was burning in 1992 and when Muslims were targeted recently in Gujarat by Narendra Modi Muslim scholars and Ulemas wrote series of article exposing Hindutva policy and plight of Muslims including Dawoodi Bohras. And what was Sayedna Saheb doing? He went to Indore for grand Moharram vaiz rather than going to Gujarat. He did issue a statement in Indore. Statement said ‘the people of Indore were thirsty as rains had not fallen down but the moment your Maula stepped on soil of Malva because of his miracle the rains came. He collected more than 50,000 Bohras in Indore but did not instruct them even once to extent helping hands to their suffering brethren in Gujarat. Again in the period he went to Dahod by chartered helicopter to inaugurate a reconstructed mosque.
So Sayedna saheb has made himself insignificant. When it comes to him he organizes big demonstrations and takes out morchas. But when Bohras or Muslims or Humanity suffers he cares a hoot. He has absolutely no role in any of national or international issue.
Bohras are approximately 12 to 15 lakhs in world. But there is still more microscopic community. Parsis are just 80,000 in total. They are unknown in most of part of India and world. But they stand taller than Bohras because of their excellence in Industries, Arts, Education, medical help and social services. There 14 educational institution of college level in Bombay founded by Parsis. There are 12 multi-facility hospitals in Bombay built by Parsis. Tatas and Godrej are known industrialists. Dr. Bhaba, Dr Sethna (both scientists and creator Atomic energy in India), Cawasji Jahangir (creator of Jahangir Art Gallery), Sir Jamshedji (founder of J.J. School of Arts and Architecture and J.J.Hospital), General Manik Shaw (Retd. Army Chief), JRD Tata (the master planner of civil aviation in India) are all Parsis. Where do we, Dawoodi Bohras stand in front of them? We do not have a single industrialist of their rank though we claim to live in India since last 900 years. Sayedna Taher Saifuddin Saheb did ventured into several industrial projects like Leader Press Ltd., Asian Electronics, Asian Dehydrates, Diamond Aerating Gas works, Western India Services, Bakov Wolf Engineering Works, Security Trading Syndicate, Saifee Development Corporation, Saifee Moazzam Associate, Sultan Press, Sultan Film financing Corporation, Hotel Ambassador and Malabar Hill Construction company. But all these industries remain for sort time as long as he wanted them. These were founded with the sole purpose of selling their Shares among Bohras through Amil’s network, usurping their valuable lands, import machineries and equipments and sell them and give temporary employment to retired government officers from who Sayedna Saheb wanted to get his work done. Non of these exists today.

You talk of people who write and talk of modern issues and way of solving them....Sayedna institutes answers to these issues.

Islam is not a new religion...that people need to be told over and over Riba is haram, Pornography is haram, Pork is haram. These thing we know from growing up in the madrassa.

You call out what did Sayedna do when people of Gujarat (all people) were in trouble. He held vaaz of Muharram and didn't forget his faith and instilled the actions of our beloved Awliya on the matter! He held vaaz of Muharram and made DUA for bohras, muslim, and hindus in Gujarat.

I would like to point out something to you. While the people of Iraq were not allowed to perform the al'azam ziyarat of Imam Husayn...we bohras, because of the guidance and leadership of our Dai, had regular groups from around the world going there. Bohras were doing matam by the zarih of Imam Husayn. At the border, Iraqi guards of Saddam Hussein, praised Sayedna and the bohras.

Think about that for a second...after the first Gulf War...every shiah was off limits from Karbala...while Sayedna celebrated his birthday with thousands of mumineen in praise of Imam Husayn within a year.

Aqa Maula (TUS) has strongly condemned the American attack on Iraq and has encouraged Mumineen in Britain to participate in mass protests against this war that were organised. Aqa Maula (TUS) has also strongly condemned this war during the Ashara Waaz in Mumbai this year and his office issued a statement to the press to ensure everyone is aware of his strong objection. Obviously, many people respect him and hold him in high esteem as thousands upon thousands have listened to him and have been inspired to protest against the war, bohras and non-bohras alike.

So much for not speaking out against the american invasion of Iraq, eh Insaf?

Dear Anhar, I had attended Mohrram Vaiz at Nusaini Masjid in Mumbai. I did not find Sayedna Saheb ever saying a word against Iraq war. His vaiz advertisements had appeared in Time of India, Indian Express, Milli Gazette. in every advertise I found praises of Sayedna Saheb, tiltles given to him, general sttements that he has helped so many thousands Bohras etc. with photographs of Bohras boeing down before him and eating in thal in Bohra dress.
One statement I did find where he had expressed his desire for world peace. But all general statements. I therefore request you to kindly be specific and give details of atleast statement with proper reference where it was published and when.
Incidently I was shocked when I heard Sayedna Saheb being childish knowing well that thousands of people are listening to him. I quote his words and you decide:

There after Sayedna Saheb narrated the story of Arabi, who was a villeger but he could reach Rasulillah because his heart was clean. After narrating this story he said: Mumineen, Mukhleseen ne kahoon chhoon tamara dil ma safa hashe tau tame mara sudhi ponhchi saksho, tmara Aaqa Maula sagloo jane chhe. ....etc."

This incident is a personal experience. A hindu friend comes home on a social visit, with his brother, who is on vacation from Kenya. The first question the Kenyan asks after knowing I am a bohri is, are you a chittiwalla? When he comes to know of my reformist views, tells stories of our "chittiwallas" specially during the visit of sayadna. I can assure you, Br Qyam, as a bohri you will feel ashamed.
