Waaz Mubarak on Lailatul Arba'een (Chehlum)

The one and only free public forum for Bohras. The focus of this forum is the reform movement, the Dawoodi Bohra faith and, of course, the corrupt priesthood. But the discussion is in no way restricted to the Bohras alone.

zeal,

I have read your many posts and long ago concluded that you are an idiot.

Do not teach me or anyone else about Allah or the Quran. You have yet to take even the first step towards understanding them.

As to those Muslims who think that Allah is never associated with anger, they need only refer to Surat al-Fatiha. Bohras know it as 'alhamdulilla ni surat'. They recite it in every rakaa of every prayer. What do the words "ghayril maghdhubi alayhim" mean"? They mean "not those with whom you (Allah) are angry". Also, fanatical Bohras, some of the the most ignorant Muslims, should search the Quran for word 'gadhiba' and all its inflections. Not that they will know what I mean.

Porus,

People like you who claim that they understand quran and Allah better than any zeal and accountability and yet reject faith are the biggest idiots in this entire universe.

Long back I have concluded about you , and some of your gang members like Kalim etc that you are the ones who are lost and drowned in the false wave of intelligence and modernism.

Accusing anybody like the way you do ...shows how impatient and immature you are.

May allah show you the right way!

I make no such claim. Only an idiot will think that. ;)

I am sorry I called you an idiot. I underestimated your great wisdom. I see now that you are indeed very wise.

Thats better ..

First of all do realize that Allah subhanho talah is free of all emotions.
Continue this for some time and in the process you will slowly understand how amazing it is to be like that.

And this entire creation thats the masterpiece of Allah almighty and how he runs it is no joke to understand in its completeness...Allah ho aalam!
He knows his secrets and no one else better
We all are no doubt idiots here.

But when I accept his master work and join in the faith I surely become a less idiot than you and the ones who reject it.

porus,

Although I agree with you on this one, however, some time back I remember discussing with you the "fear" of Allah when you outright rejected that concept out of the quran.

Now you say that Allah says in the quran that he does get angry. So if he does not intend for you to fear him, why is he getting angry?

anajmi,

You are still not clear on where I come from.

Description of God as it is in the Quran is anthomorphic and has human qualities. I try to discuss Quran in its own terms, about what Quran itself says about various topics, as it is literally understood by most Muslims.

I do not subscribe to that view of God. I choose to interpret Him in the way mystics have described him in their interpretation of not only the Quran but other world scriptures also.

In this view God cannot be described at all. While I cannot describe God, I am attracted to the idea that God is uncreated essence of which 'all that is' is mere illusory manifestation. That is, the cosmos is an illusion created by the mind. In this God is consciousness and joy. Hindus have a word for it. It is "Satchitanand".

I cannot go into detail on this but there is tons of material on this on the internet, if you care to find out.

Needless to say, my interpretation is not the "Truth". It is just something to play with. And no body else, now or in the past or in the future, knows or has known or will know the "Truth".

And of course, every one else on earth is entitled to their own view of God and very welcome to it.
