Eid Mubarak !!!

Eid Mubark.

It is heartnening to know that Majority of Muslim World has decided to follow Quran and Sunnah of our prophet and did not start new month on December 5th. Muslim of USA will celebrate Eid on December 6th. Moon was not ssen despite of its age (17 Hours on West Coast). Therefore today is 30th fast for Muslims in USA.

May we all unite and follw Quran and Sunnah of Our Prophet SAW.

Dear MuslimFirst,

Sorry to burst your bubble:

2 of the 3 mosques in my city celebrated eid today on the 12/5..the third on 12/6. This is typical in almost every city.

The hilal was spotted. Saudi Arabia, Egypt, decided that Eid ul-Fitr will be on Thursday, December 5, 2002.

Even in ottawa canada the hilal was the imam of the Ottawa Mosque.

The Islamic Assembly of North America (IANA) announces that Thursday December 5, 2002 is Eid-ul-Fitr for the year 1423 A.H. This decision is in accordance with IANA's Fiqh Committee, which stated that Ramadan and Eid would be declared in North America if Muslims sight the new crescent either in North America or in the Muslim world (Wehdat Almatalee). sorry to burst your bubble:
