The clip you posted has a Kuwaiti News presenter talking and no other sound.
Secondly, even if a translator was needed, it says nothing about a person's understanding of Quranic or classical Arabic. Read Shayba's post.

Is this true or just a hearsay?
Ofcourse I would not be surprised that its true, as it has been happening for the last 30-40 years, or more. This goes on to prove that this is a business and not a religion. If it is religion, than its only for the rich ones and after paying the amount, has bought a visa to haven. And the visa is being sold by HIS agent.

HI Anwar,
Can any of those Bohras in kuwait deny this?
For the sake of Allah, can they assure that they did not do this. Tell the truth.
Old man must have invested this money in the Swiss Bank for his future cronies. You will not get anything in this world or hereafter. IF WE DON'T REALIZE AND CHANGE WE CAN MEET THE OLD MAN IN THE HELL!DON'T BE FOOLS YAA!
May Allah guide all of us from this selfish gang and their wrong path.

O, heavens! Another Dawoodi soooo knowledgeable about Arabic!!!
Differences in colloquial dialects among Arabs certainly make an Iraqi and an Algerian unable to understand each other if they insist on conversing in their own dialect. But these Arabs resort to Standard Arabic which is the language of newspapers, television news and formal discourse. They do not speak their local dialects when in that situation.
Classical language of the Quran is closer to the Standard Arabic. So, if you knew the Quranic language, then you would also know the Standard Arabic.
The real explanation of the need for an interpreter is that the Kuwaiti, having spent most of his time among nubile ladies in Europe, could not speak Arabic but a smattering of a mixture of European languages. Hence the need for the interpreter. Moula's perfect Arabic was not clear to the dim-witted Kuwaiti!! So there! End of sory.

God is not an Arab/The Lord of the Universe is not an Arab.
It is wrong to promote the idea that one can only serve the Lord of the Universe in the Arabic language. Such an opinion (and that is all it really is) ignores the following material considerations:
The Lord of the Universe understands English, French, Spanish, German, Russian, Thai, Tamil, Japanese, Chinese or any other language (including those of the ants and the animals).
Why then, the obsession with the 'political correctness' and emphasis on the Arabic language and culture in Islam?9 The Qur'an details the lives of great people of the past like Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, David, Solomon, Moses, Jesus and many others who served God. They did not speak the Arabic language but they were righteous people and the pioneer servants of God. They did not worship God in the ordinary sense of that word. Their relationship with Him revolved around upholding their obligations and keeping their commitments pure and chaste through deeds. All of this was accomplished without the facility of the Arabic tongue. Worship is a pagan ritual. Moses, Abraham, Jesus, David, and Muhammad were sent to teach us to stop worshipping through rituals. It is God's will that we submit to His deen by serving Him through upholding our obligations and performing righteous deeds.
Someone who has not experienced so-called Muslim culture first hand may not appreciate the extent to which Arab tribal customs prevail.
Every living creature in the seven heavens and the earth are glorifying God in their own way. There is nothing that does not glorify Him. God understands their glorification and their languages. To demonstrate this fact, the Qur'an narrates an incident with regard to Solomon. Solomon was blessed with the understanding of the language of the animals, the birds, and the ants. One day, as he was passing a colony of ants, he smiled in amusement when he heard the ants communicating with each other:
When they approached a valley of the ants, one ant said, "O you ants! Go inside your homes, otherwise Solomon and his troops may crush you unintentionally." (27:18)
Obviously the ants were not communicating with each other in Arabic. God translated the language of the ants into Arabic because He understands all languages. If He had chosen a French prophet, He would obviously have translated the ant's warning to his comrades into French.
God revealed the scripture to Moses in his language, but when the Qur'an was revealed in Arabic to an Arab, the Children of Israel were told to believe in it.
O Children of Israel, appreciate the blessing I have bestowed upon you and uphold My covenant, that I uphold your covenant, and reverence Me and believe in what is revealed herein confirming what you have, and do not be the first to reject it. Do not trade My revelations for a cheap price, and observe Me. (2:40-41)
God's revelations had to come down in some language and there is no doubt that it is the message and not the messenger nor the language of the messenger, which is of supreme importance. But those who refuse to believe will regard the language as an encumbrance in accepting God's message. The Qur'an teaches that the language of God's Scripture immaterial and that God will put His message into the hearts of sincere believers irrespective of their mother tongue. The Qur'an says those who disbelieve are bickering about the language not the message. The Qur'an gives a good example about the people of the past who had disputed about the language of the Torah. There were instances of those who claimed to be following the teachings of Moses but divided themselves into many sects in their religion. They differed in the interpretations and understanding of the Torah. Similar disputes are, not surprisingly, raging within the Arab religion. The Qur'an predicts that people would have questioned God's revelation no matter in what language He chose to reveal it:
Had we made it a non-Arabic reading they would have said, "Why are the verses not explained?" Shall we reveal a non-Arabic qur'an10 to an Arab? Say, "For those who believe it is a beacon and a guide. As for those who do not believe they will be deaf and blind to it, as if they are being called from afar." We also gave Moses the Scripture and it, too, was disputed. If it were not for a predetermined decision by your Lord, they would have been judged immediately. They are in great doubt thereof. (41:44-45)
If presented in Arabic to the non-Arabs they could not accept it when recited to them. This is the way We render it to the hearts of the wicked. Consequently, they fail to believe until the painful retributions strikes them. (26:198-201)
Despite the fact that the Qur'an was revealed in Arabic, God has not preferred the Arabs over other races. He made it clear by resolutely condemning Arabs in the Arabic Scripture in the strong terms where He says they are the staunchest in disbelief and hypocrisy.
Certain people have accused the author of a hatred for the Arab people for his pointing out the existence of the verses in the Qur'an which do, in fact, describe the Arabs in exactly the terms mentioned above.

God is not an Arab/The Lord of the Universe is not an Arab.

Opinion, my friend. Believe me. He understands only Arabic and, like our Moula, needs an interpreter for other languages. You don’t believe me? Then prove it is wrong.

There is no religion without ritual; and what is wrong with pagans? They also have rituals and do righteous deeds.

Because God who is Arab and other Arabs were a dominant culture in medieval times. That is where Muslims are stuck. But like apes they partake in all that the current dominant culture, the Western civilization, offers. It is said by Crusader infidels that God made humans in his own image but truly he only succeeded in making Arabs like himself. The rest are trying to become like him to correct his mistake. They do this by adopting Arab dress, language and customs.
Every living creature in the seven heavens and the earth are glorifying God in their own way. There is nothing that does not glorify Him. God understands their glorification and their languages.
Superstition with absolutely no evidence.

Children’s fairy story.
The rest does not deserve comment, By the way, who is the illustrious author, who is hated? He is more worthy of pity for his intellect!!

porus,
I guess you do not know what the meaning of faith is.
As they say about faith, for those who believe, no explanation is necessary and for those who do not, no explanation is possible.
So there is no point is demanding an explanation. Cause if the prophet himself could not convince people like you, there can be no hope from us!!

Re: why aqua mola needed an arabic translator when he came t
Allah says in the quran 30:22
"And among his signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the difference of your languages and colors. Verily, in that are indeed signs for men of sound knowledge."
Allah, you know, he is smart indeed, he says, the difference in languages is a sign and then he says it is a sign for men of sound knowledge. So go figure!!
So if we were to believe the quran then it is imperative that we believe that Allah understands all the different languages. Of course, for those who do not believe in the quran, well, they can believe what they like.
Another fact (again for those who believe) is that there have been other divine revelations before the quran which were not in Arabic. It is obvious that since they were all from Allah(for those who believe) it is understood that Allah understands other languages as well.

And by the way, when I pray(not namaz, but dua) to Allah, most of the times I speak in gujarati and sometimes in English. I hope he understands or I am screwed. But then again, namaz is universally in arabic so I guess we will be saved, inshaallah.

Interesting discussion....
I have absolute faith in the belief that, I will snuff it if I jumped off a building's 50th floor onto hard ground.
The fact that you will croak if you do that is not faith or belief but a proven demise.
Faith on the other hand is tricky....no proof or evidence and often miguided, misused and relative.... except that the person with "faith" accepts it as absolute.

Re: why aqua mola needed an arabic translator when he came t
One way would be to make a distinction about two kinds of faith.
One, faith in oneself, one's abilities, one's values etc that does not rely on anything or anybody out of one's self. That is healthy and demands self-responsibility.
The other, is faith some one and something out of one's self. In this category are faith in god, moulana, snake oil salesmen, witch doctors and others who demand abdication of sel-responsibility and reversion to superstition. This is the type that is always unshakeable even in the extreme.
The first type is always a hypothesis, subject to change with experience. Thus science is a form belief and faith but not absolute.

Well, I guess I know what you mean by faith now. How stupid of me. I thought we were talking of something completely different.
There is another kind of faith. The faith that my toilet will flush after I take a dump or it will be pretty ugly.
Thanks for the info guys.

yes, it was indeed pride and honour according to me that aqa moula had a translator, coz our language is dawat ni zaban, and i am glad that aqa maula stuck to principles of dawoodi bohra community. I am a kuwaiti resident, and it makes me feel proud that i have such a great leader as aqa maula to follow, his visit to kuwait has made every bohra proud, not only in kuwait but all over the world. after his visit to kuwait, our community is highly respected. Perhaps, many people here might not be able to understand it, but all i could do is pity such people. May Allah give toufique to all of us to recognise who we are and where do we all have to go. it is so ironical that many people here are against the dai, and yet call themselves dawoodi bohra, may allah forgive you all.
