Judging the Present Dai
Judging the Present Dai
Syedna Saheb is an Authoritarian ruler not an ambassador of peace and mercy as claimed. Please judge him by the definition of the authoritarianism as defined by Theodore M. Vestal of Oklahoma State University–Stillwater:-
"Highly concentrated and centralized power structures" in which power is generated and maintained by a "repressive system that excludes potential challengers" and uses militant groups and mass organizations to "mobilize people around the goals of the authoritarian rule.
Authoritarian rule works on principles:-
1) rule of men, not rule of law, (Syedna Saheb has been prescribed as ‘A government within a government’ and ‘A Law unto himself’)
2) forced decisions (Misaq to Dai, Raza, Wajebat, Sabeel, ownership of masjids and communal properties),
3) all important decisions made by unconcerned officials behind closed doors, (Al Wazrat-e-Aalia)
4) a bureaucracy operated quite independently of rules and ethics, (Autocratic functioning of Shahzadas and Amils),
5) the informal and unregulated exercise of power (Jamatkharij and Baraat, E-Jamat Cards)
6) leadership that is "self-appointed and cannot be displaced by citizens' free choice, (choice and appointment of successive Dai in the same family)
7) no guarantee of civil liberties or tolerance for meaningful opposition; (the dictates to vote for candidates supported by the Syedna, Dress code, reading newspapers and periodicals etc)
8. Weakening of civil society, "No freedom to create a broad range of groups, organizations, and political parties to question the decisions of rulers", with instead an "attempt to impose controls on virtually all elements of society", (dictates to boycott banks, to dissolve social organizations like Bohra Youth Association),
9) Power stability maintained by "control over and support of the militants to provide security to the system and control of society; (Shabab, Tanzeem, Burhani scouts, Burhani Guards, violent physical attacks, extortion of money, ransacking houses and offices),
10) control of internal opposition and dissent; (Controversy of Zahir Batin, Bashing Mazoon-e-Dawat)
11) creation of allegiance through various means. (Misaq to Dai on every occasion),
Sorry to say that Present Dai is a merciless Dictator

Re: Judging the Present Dai
bhai insaf if i may add:
12) keeping his followers in constant fear of fictional enemies (dawat na dushmano) and creating in their minds a siege mentality. (ola musalmano, wahabiyo, kafar shia etc)
13) engaging them in senseless rituals which induce a state of self-hypnosis, (maatam, singing highly charged devotional songs like sajda tujhe wajib hai, ghanu jeevo, etc) and emotionally exploiting them with false stories of miracles and superhuman feats of their leader. (ena ehsaan beshumaar che, su eni niraali shaan che)
14) creating a class system based on wealth and power and awarding high sounding but bogus titles (sheikhs, mullas, nkd, mkd etc) to create a horse race amongst narrow-minded and socially deprived fanatics.
15. devising schemes to keep naive followers inward-looking and isolated from the rest of world society (mohalla ni majlis, sitabi's, sabaks, tasbeeh's, tabudat days, ladies bazaars etc)
16. controlling flow of information and knowledge (raza to read scriptures, sabaks, denying you access to outside and independent sources of religious information) and making you totally dependent on your leader (natiqe quran, haqiqi kaaba etc)
17. deliberately devising schemes to make you a misfit in mainstream society, by means of dress codes(STD, Ridhas), appearance (dadhi topi), so that you have no choice but to turn inwards and become totally dependent on your own community for your cultural identity and social structure.
18. finally, creating a sense of helplessness (su karsoo) and fear at the very thought of leaving the close knit community built up around the leader, to such an extent that if you were thrown out, it would lead to mental and social death, total ignominy amongst your peers and subsequent despair or suicide.

Indeed, you all have very well expressed the problems in the bohra society, please come up with ways in which the blind can see the light.

Re: Judging the Present Dai
obviously. you have to run to lick some sleazy backsides and prepare for the intense grief of moharram by practising heavy duty self-flagellation. you have to sharpen yr chains and other instruments of self-torture and then also prepare for the labrez jamans afterwards.guy_sam2005 wrote:

dont forget to oil yr gun for the post ashura shikar trip. that is a compulsory requirement by imam hussain. he is not happy until you shoot and murder big game mmediately after his shahadat.
