The young and restless

The one and only free public forum for Bohras. The focus of this forum is the reform movement, the Dawoodi Bohra faith and, of course, the corrupt priesthood. But the discussion is in no way restricted to the Bohras alone.

The young and restless

Does the young generation of U.S. And U.K understand some of the gujrati poetry which is recited everytime they attend a majlis because of their parents. The poem "Ghano jeevo" is oft repeated and what some of the verses mean that your Aqa Moula is asking you to peel your skins and then make shoes out of your peeled skins and put them on your Dais feet. How wrong can this be. No where in the history of the Nabis or Imams and for that sake even the Khojas present Imam whose post in religious sense is higher than a Dai's post has ever asked his followers to do such a thing. Lets face it I have yet to see a brave bohra who will peel his or her skin. Then why say such things and ridicule yourself in society. The same is also true in some of the arabic verses recited during majlis etc. I wonder if the Dai is aware and is O.K. with such verses.

now let us wait and see if any of the dai's fanatics will reply to this... maybe your wait may stretch until the day of qayamat.!!

or maybe they are too busy peeling off their skins to prepare said jooti's.. true bohra(TB) has interestingly enough mentioned about burning pain and suffering in some other topic, maybe he was subconsciously referring to his own agony?

bhai, there is a lot beyond yr understanding in our bohraism.. e badhu taawil nu bayan che, ema arso daraz thai jaase..

one more thing. no marsiya, madeh, or any such stuff is recited without the raza and knowledge of the syedna and his FBI deptt. so that should answer yr question about the syedna's awareness.

in my childhood i remember that famous reciters used to recite their own compositions and had the freedom to do so. now everything is strictly controlled like the US deptt of homeland security.

there was a very famous marsiya reciter called maasum in the 60's and ealy 70's who had a divine voice and recited his own carefully guarded compositions in chaste urdu. i believe that when they started interfering with his choices and dictating to him what he could recite etc, he got upset and from that day, just stopped and never came back, probably joined the reformist camp. maybe someone knows more about him.

Kothar DOESNOT want any one to UNDERSTAND, coz if u understand, u will think and if u think, u will QUESTION and that is not kothar's aim.

Just say and do what they say and do. Follow BLINDLY and thats it.

Perhaps my mind is in the gutter, but I read the heading of this missive as "the young and breastless"!!!Perhaps, a freudian slip or because I see lots of these Bohri women in the colourful RIDAS hiding or wanting to their hide or cover their outstanding mammary glands by these mandatory attire, and me and others wishing to admire the God's creations.

Sorry, couldn't help it. Proves the point why RIDA was introduced in the first place.
