I cant believe this

The one and only free public forum for Bohras. The focus of this forum is the reform movement, the Dawoodi Bohra faith and, of course, the corrupt priesthood. But the discussion is in no way restricted to the Bohras alone.

That is DB faith. Do not interfere in its business of making money by selling maatam and majlis. - Adam.

The above mentioned money making racket is very much true and it has been going on since many many years especially during the dai's vayez. To accomodate more people (especially women), tutaks (temporary lofts) are built and to have a place there, one must shell out some moolah and also have the right contacts, the price differs and it is the highest if one choses to have a seat facing the dai in order to get 'barkat' of having deedar of the 'nurani chehra'.
This is peanuts as compared to the fat sum which the jamat, which sponsors the vayez has to pay. A few years back the highest bidder i.e. the colombo jamat had paid around Rs.40 crore. Now with the inflation peaking up the rough guess would be an amount not less then Rs.100 crore. Other misc expenses such as the food, lodging, bribing the govt officials etc etc are extra. The amount collected by way of various ziafats, performing nikahs and showering titles of mulla, sheikhs etc are the bonus which More-la takes home.

The abdes never question the above nor try to introspect as to whether the great sacrifices of the shoda-e-karbala were anytime for the greed of money or any materialistic pleasure and yet they have the balls to say that we are the true lovers of Ahle-bait (a.s.).

In my country it has been happening for years now, the disgusting thing is that once a window seat has been bought/reserve by a bairo then even if she doesnt turn up in waaz no one is allowed to occupy it in her absence, this is according to bhabhisaheb or bensaheb rules, they own the temple, after all they are all wife/daughter/in laws of bhagwan himself
