Launch of Qutbi Jubilee Scholarship Program - QJSP

The one and only free public forum for Bohras. The focus of this forum is the reform movement, the Dawoodi Bohra faith and, of course, the corrupt priesthood. But the discussion is in no way restricted to the Bohras alone.

May i request to continue discussions on this important subject separately rather than merging with other general subjects related to SKQ.

This is a remarkable intitiative which will provide new breath to the dead abdes and increase followers of SKQ. Moreover he is bringing transparency by publishing the audited acccounts of the Trust, thereby addressing PDB issues. SKQ can lead the reformists agenda towards its objective much succesfuly than anyone has done. This is time for senior PDB members and jamaats to start a dialogue and provide the support he is looking for. Else this forum and ideas will continue to remain subject of gossips.
Excellent initative !

The Qutbi Jubilee Scholarship Program (QJSP) has been launched by His Holiness Syedna Khuzaima Qutbuddin (TUS). It is an effort to continue the legacy of education established by Syedna Taher Saifuddin (RA) and Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (RA). QJSP aims to offer financial aid to Dawoodi Bohra students pursuing degrees in higher education in a variety of fields including Arts, Engineering, Literature, Mathematics, Economics, Education, Medicine, etc.
Aqa Moula has done inayat to launch the program: this year the QJSP program will fund one foreign study scholarship (US $10,000), ten Indian higher education scholarships (Rs 1 lakh each) and fifty primary/secondary school scholarships (Rs 10,000 each) till the end of the student’s program. The scholarships will be awarded based on the criteria of academic merit and financial need. At least one third of the scholarships will be awarded to qualified women and girl students to support higher education for women. Renewal of the scholarship is contingent on academic progress. Aqa Moula has instituted these scholarships in remembrance and in honor of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin.

QJSP’s general policy is to grant an average of 40% of the scholarship in full, the rest of the scholarship amount will be structured as qardan hasanat (an interest free soft student loan).

QJSP will be managed under the guidance of Syedna Khuzaima Qutbuddin.

Many projects were started by 51st on down. None ever bore fruit. With this record it is hard to bite anything that looks good on paper. It would be better if we are informed after a couple of years. By then we will be able to verify. It is an honest concern. I am sure they would oblige.

Bro seeker110,

Your doubts are legitimate and justified but looking at their track record with projects like Zahra Hasanat and others it would be fair to give them a chance with regard to the subject project. I personally know how his sons and followers have been helping the poor Bohras in Mumbra and other slums in Mumbai since many years hence, I would not be too pessimistic.

A couple of vans does not come close to Ehdhi's fleet of ambulances. Although both of them are around same age. Let us see some meat in the project for a couple of years. Whats the harm in testing the water before diving in. I have prayed namaz with SKQ's side. Same matam after namaz. When will the innovations stop.
Ehdhi use to beg in the street like Sir Syed Ahmad for muslim school projects. I have seen his clothes and his wive's clothes. She looked like kaamwali masi. They lived like Mola Ali. Come close to that lifestyle for all to see.

People like Ehdhi are born once in a lifetime, there is no comparison of him with any of the so called religious leaders.

Then we should give this project to the family who started the first school in Udaypoor. That family has khaloos and experience.

Seeker bro something is better than nothing, I am sure the other side will come up with a similar scheme, let them compete. It is the bohras who will benefit and I say let there be more claimants to dai ship. The more the competition the better the performance.
