1. THE BELIEFS OF MUSLIMS REGARDING ALLAH
Muslims should have the belief about Allah:
1. Allah the Most Exalted is One.
2. None is worthy of worship and devotion except Allah.
3. There is no partner of Allah.
4. He Knows everything; nothing is hidden from Him
5. He is All Powerful and Mighty.
6. It is He who created the earth, the sky, the moon, the sun, the stars, the angels, human beings, genies and the entire universe.
7. He gives life and death. In other words, life and death of all creatures take place by His command.
8. He feeds all His creation.
9 He does not eat, drink, or sleep.
10. He is Self-existent from eternity and will last till eternity.
11. No one has created Him.
12. He has no father, no son, no daughter, no wife, or other relations. He is above all such relationships.
13. All depend on Him. He does not depend on anyone, and He has no needs.
14. He is Peerless. There is nothing like Him. Nothing resembles Him.
15. He is free from all imperfections.
16. Unlike His creatures, He does not have hands, legs, nose, ears, face and shape.
17. After creating the angels He has appointed them to carry out specific tasks, and to manage the affairs of the universe.
18. He sent messengers for the guidance of His creatures; to teach people how to follow the true religion, do good deeds, and forbid them from the evil things.

I wonder if that is the only reason of getting married cited by Islam....what if no one marries?...that way no sex can be classified adultery cuz it wont be outside the marital bond...huh?

Nice one Tahir,
The problem with no one getting married will be; who is going to take care of children. In west the neglected children is a bigger problem then adultery.

tahir,
Second, Eradicating adultery by eradicating marriage is an excellent idea. Only a person as smart as you sound could've come up with that.

Re: Teachings of the Prophet Muhammed (saw)
That is something the muslims need to reinterpret...they have taken it very rigidly.....so they dont bother family planning and keep multiplying like pigs....the consequent low level of literacy and overall low quality of life make them suffer throuout....this is specially true in South Asia1. Re: Teachings of the Prophet Muhammed (saw)
I wish people a generation ago had been smart enough to figure out that Islam is not against family planning.
Re: Teachings of the Prophet Muhammed (saw)
Anajmi and Taher,
You see that is the problem - Islam is what Islam is, it is the 'interpretation' which matters, it is 'our' perception of how we see things.
Islam or for that matter any religion or any system has some established policies, laws, procedures etc. People interpret them as they wish so that they 'suit' their requirements and 'teach' and 'preach' accordingly (Burhan being an example). so onus is on 'us' the people.
Once the human beings start using their brains and when knowledge and wisdom is in abundant that day we would attain Jannah on earth only. The only way to attain this education and leteracy. When one is 'capable' of understanding and judging and not relying on others as they today, we will solve most of our miseries.
The example which has been taken up by Taher is of population and planning. What the general concept is that we should not do family as it is upto Allah to give or not to give children and taht He will give the Rozee. This has been taken leterally and we see Muslim Ummah growing and growing in numbers ONLY! If our people understand, if they have knowledge, they will do the family planning - today they do not as 'religion' says no to it. Educating masses will solve much, but the powers-that-be will not allow this. Even Burhan is encouraging 'early marraiges' and Kothar is calling parents of teenagers and pushing them for their marriage. REASON: Involve them in marriage, sex, kids, job, involve them deeply in daily life so soon and at an early age that they donot have time to 'think' and 'learn' and 'grow'.

Re: Teachings of the Prophet Muhammed (saw)
strange topic
anajmi...what are you actually quoting from the outline what Islam is?
jc and tahir,
getting married early and family planning are meant to do two fold...prevent illicit relationship outside marriage (including the elimination of illegimate or unwanted children) and to establish companionship for the young adults. This is not new and to say marriage is for procreation is very simplistic view of the actual meaning of marriage.
however, marriage is family planning and not a vehicle to have sex and have children. It is when the uneducated push the story line of latter that things go wrong.
and i can say as a married man with children, you grow into islam in pratice and experience 100 times more than not being married. islam is geared around a community that will marry and not stay single. the prophet said 1/3 of islam is contained with marriage...not the acts, but the beliefs of islam. marriage eliminates the problems that actually stop us from growing and learning our beliefs. to support another person(s), to plan for the future, to provide an example to those around...this is the essense of being a mumin and practicing islam and keeping a person grounded. you can't get that from being a spinster or single.

spot,
I am quoting from various sources, sources that have taken the quran and hadith and tried to make it more understandable for those that do not understand easily. Please let me know if there is something Islamically wrong with what I have quoted or if it is against quran or sunnah. I apologize in advance for any such mistake.

The prophet advised his sahabas to practice coitus interruptus to prevent unwanted pregnancies. There's your family planning for you. Next time you speak about 'religion' please do your research.
Please let me know where the 'religion' says no to family planning. If our people understand, if they have knowledge, they will do the family planning - today they do not as 'religion' says no to it.

Re: Teachings of the Prophet Muhammed (saw)
And when I say blow you up I meant figuratively and not literally where people are actually killed and not blown up like a balloon as some folks might assume.
Re: Teachings of the Prophet Muhammed (saw)
JC, I agree with that absolutely....marriage and settling down will always make you a confirmist...you will think as the herd of sheep thinks...you loose the balls to revolt agaisnt the establishment as you are gripped in a strong inertia of household.....moreover, the family is a liver through which the Kothar does all the arm twisting tricks agaisnt you...you are in a perpetual fear of your children not getting married if you are excommunicated...your wife becomes a livig hell in the house since she is not invited in majlis, jamans etc.....so no wonder the dai insists upon early marriage and settling down so that the resistence is nipped in the bud.....REASON: Involve them in marriage, sex, kids, job, involve them deeply in daily life so soon and at an early age that they donot have time to 'think' and 'learn' and 'grow'.
The stagnating US society was changed by the generation of hippies in the 60s...the bohri order has taken a strong cue from that and as a precaution, tries to get all the young guys get married in their early twenties- the age when the passion and potential for rebellion is highest. Once married, the only form of violence you can show against the dai is posting messages on such message boards with fake ids.
Re: Teachings of the Prophet Muhammed (saw)
Taher,
Agreed. That is exactly what I am trying to assert. Early marriage is a strategy to avoid rebellion and to have effective control over 'subjects'. In today's world and life early twenties is not the age to get married. Why don't people understand that Islam is 1400 years old and some things have changed. Today we live in totally different world with varied ideas and compulsions. Why don't they want to grow?
Anajmi,
As for the family planning and the hadith you quoted - how many people know of that, how much it is advertised or publisized, how many actually preach and practice that. We donot need to research on this, we know the answer. The general impression is that Islam is against family planning and so today we see Muslim population growing and growing and in pain and sufferings. The miseries of Muslims are enormous. How on earth can you family plan if you advocate:
1. Early marriages
2. Marrying 4 wives
3. Do not encourage use of condoms and other birth contolling methods
4. Oppose abortion
5. And last but not least, oppose same-sex marriages!!
I have been saying, I am not a scholar, an average person who goes by average norms, like thousands others. We need more education which is suppressed by EVERY religion and EVERY sect.

Re: Teachings of the Prophet Muhammed (saw)
1. Early marriages
--- What according to you will be NOT early marriage ?
2. Marrying 4 wives
--- It is very rare that a muslim today have a second wife.. recently a survey done in india showed that more percentage of hindus have more than one wife than a fellow muslim citizen.
3. Do not encourage use of condoms and other birth contolling methods..
--- can you give some stats to this effect ? Do not just quote some misguided mullahs of the taliban tribe
4. Oppose abortion
--- Yes abortion is opposed not only by muslims but by all the major world religions.
5. And last but not least, oppose same-sex marriages!!
---- In what way does this fit in planning for the family ??

there are indeed harsher ways of conveying the above message

there are indeed harsher ways of conveying the above message
Re: Teachings of the Prophet Muhammed (saw)
Hey Dilber,
Donot take it ur Dil yaar ...!!!
curse me if you want to, abuse me if you want to.
I speak TRUTH.
And there is no need to give stats. these are all very common. the fact is muslims are over-populated and are living in slavery due to fellow muslims only. muslims are in misery and sufferings every where.
Revolutions comes from within.
And with due respects Mr. Dilber - what my sexual orientation has to do with 'good deeds'. I may be gay, but by the Grace of God, I am satisfied that I do many good things and I ask from Reward from Allah and Allah only and want Him to judge me. May He shower His blessings upon all.

Re: Teachings of the Prophet Muhammed (saw)
Here we go JC
1. OF ALL YOU don't have to worry about Muslim Population, your lack of knowledge, understanding and belief in Islam is making you say things which YOU THINK are coming out of your wisdom but only exhibit your shallowness. Allah's world is so wide and the system so complex that you simply can not reduce it to your twisted, ill founded views.
2. About your "SEXUAL ORIENTATION"
a) there are prescribed punishments in Islam for your "Orientation".
b) What you need is a REAL GOOD BEATING and few days in Qalaboosh to bring home some sense and dignity in you, as I said even a DOG does not go near a DOG, and YOU NEED reorientation, this can not come without pain.
c) IF your ORIENTATION is from THE BACKSIDE get your digestive tract examined, go for anenscopy on the front and a colonoscopy on the rear, see what ails you, get treated and start living the natural way.
d) IF your ORIENTATION is from FRONT (which I think is not the case) get yourself evaluated by a psychiatrist and see if you need a maintenance dose of Lithium. Also get a digital for your prostrat...just a precaution.
e) Change your diet, eat more vegs and fruit, do some walking, pray five times and say your Astaghfar
JC....until all the above steps (including a good thrashing) is not done you stand no chance.playing on words is so very simple and bringing Allah and Reward from him in your talk just to try and win your argument can not be the evidence of your character. You sir are a sick man who needs medical and psychitric attention. You should be under care of professionals and I do not think I wish to discuss with you problems of Muslims, you are not the person, Harsh as it may sound.you have been told the TRUTH get cured man.

billion and the hindu population in india itself is close to a billion.

Adivce was given to you out of sympathy because you are a SICK and miserable human living a lowly life. You were told of various medical options available to you
>I am what I and I am proud of what I am.
There is nothing to be proud of in being a GA**DOO

Re: Teachings of the Prophet Muhammed (saw)
Sorry for poking my nose here but I guess everyone has a choice for sexual orientation and it should be respected.
