Justice Ahmedi is a Dawoodi Bohra and a through gentleman.
I remember that before he was honoured a Chief Justice he was once a part of the Supreme Court Bench to hear the case of Sir Adamji Peerbhoy Sanatorium and Saifee Hospital. He requested then Chief Justice Mr. Bharucha to relieve him from the bench as being a Dawoodi Bohra and under oath he would not able to do justice and he was replaced by Mr. Justice Benarji.
