Jamaat-e-Islami, Syedna condemn temple attack<p>TIMES NEWS NETWORK [ SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2002 12:11:49 AM ]<p>AHMEDABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Gujarat while condemning the terrorist attack on Akshardham Swaminarayan temple at Gandhinagar recently, has expressed shock and sorrow over the killings of innocent people. The Jamaat described the attack as an act of cowardice. <p><br>In letter to Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the state unit president Muhaamad Shafi Madni described terrorism as a serious problem and said that it was important to curb this menace. He said no religion permits the killing of innocent people. Even Islam does not sanction the cruel killings of innocent people with a spirit of revenge. <p><br>National president of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Maulana Muhammad Sirajul Hasan has also expressed sorrow and pain over the Akshardham attack.<p><br>Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin, head of the Dawoodi Bohra community has also expressed shock and anguish over the attack and asked people to maintain peace and tranquility.<p><br>The Syedna also called upon the state government to take stern action against those responsible for the attack so that such incidents do not recur in future.<br>

If a person has been killed or caused to die by another, the latter has to pay blood money or compensation, as follows:<p>100,000 riyals if the victim is a Muslim man<p>50,000 riyals if a Muslim woman<p>50,000 riyals if a Christian man<p>25,000 riyals if a Christian woman<p>6,666 riyals if a Hindu man<p>3,333 riyals if a Hindu woman<p>That is, a Muslim man's life is worth 30 times that of a Hindu woman.<p>And, someone was praising "these versions" of Islam as non RACIST! <p><br>

The example cited above is straight from the Sharia'h laws of DIYAT or blood money and is hardly bluff!
