I would like to ask you all

The one and only free public forum for Bohras. The focus of this forum is the reform movement, the Dawoodi Bohra faith and, of course, the corrupt priesthood. But the discussion is in no way restricted to the Bohras alone.

Not true.

The main and in my experience, the only reason why non-indians (and non-bohra indians also) wish to covert to Bohraism is that they wish to marry one of the Bohras.

Bohras belong to Daawat, whose head is the Dai. Now Daawat ordinarily means Invitation or Call to Faith. But the Bohara Daawat has a special meaning. It is to ensure that those born into Faith do not stray from the Faith (which means total obedience to the Dai in all respects) and those who have strayed are vehemently denounced and ostracised.

If there is a reason to want to convert to Bohraism, apart from marriage, I would dearly love to know it.

(Among Bohras, to stray means to use and exhibit free and independent thought in all matters including the religion of the Bohras.)

So are you saying that people are not allowed to be in the Bohra community, unless and until it is a different reason other than marraige?!

I just think thats absolute B.S. because the almighty authorities put non-bohras, whether indian or not, under a lot of pressure and eventually they give up. I know so many people who are willing to convert, but because it is such an intimidating process... people dont do it.

I feel your pain as I am a closet wannabe Bohri myself. I must tell you though, you must consider Wahabism, as we have a shorter waiting list. Check out our Fatwas though, and you will be swayed almost immediately. Consider our success in Tora Bora, and then ask yourself, exactly what have the Dawoodi Bohras done to deserve my membership ? I tell you NONE ! They are simply not deserving of your loyalty and faith sister Shabnam. Wahabis offer a choice that the Dai does not. We got all kinda Muftis you can pick from, and Fatwas to match every Eid dress in your closet. Take your pick sister Shabnam and may God be with you in this tormenting momentous decision.

Dear All

Lots of advantages of joining the Bohra Club. One of the biggest is you dont have to cook throughout the year.

Dear Shabman, On Kothari Website B.S. means Bhai Saheb and on this Website you are using B.S. meaning bull shit. Which rightly means Bhai Sahebs are B.S.
