Is Shabbir Bhaisaab in Competition ?

The one and only free public forum for Bohras. The focus of this forum is the reform movement, the Dawoodi Bohra faith and, of course, the corrupt priesthood. But the discussion is in no way restricted to the Bohras alone.

Is Shabbir Bhaisaab in Competition ?

An e-mail being circulated amongst bohras :-

Dear All,

As far I am aware, Bohras in past, have not celebrated anyone’s Salgirah, except those of Dai and Mazun. This following Guajarati news from AkilaIndia states that in Mumbai, Shabbier Bhaisaheb’s 81st Salgirah was celebrated with fanfare. Why 81st? Why traditional 75th or 80th Salgirah were not celebrated? Is he in competition with Syedna’s Salgirah or he is trying to piggyback the occasion 100th birth anniversary?

This article makes tall claims that Shabbier Bhaisaheb has cordial relation with all Bohras and helps them tirelessly and selflessly in crores of rupees for housing and business. That he lives a very simple life helps the poor, the orphans, the widows, the sick, and the children, without expecting any return and his doors are open to all. The writer of article is Abbas F. Attarwala from Jamnagar. He has given his tel # 94284 & 21951. I tried to call his both numbers using Jamnagar City code 288, however both numbers do not work

For many years I am looking for an avenue in Kothar where the poor and the needy Bohras can approach; I have not found any. I have directed many needy Bohras to Kothar, but they do not find any helping hand there. Once a young Bohra had kidney failure and needed money for dialysis. For a year we provided help. I directed him to approach to Saifee foundation. He received a form but it needed to be signed by the local Bhaisaheb. However Bhaisaheb rebuked this dialysis dependent young Bohra. He said, you are not going to live, so why do you want to waste Mola’s money; he threw away his application form.

Yes, those who can do chamachgiri of bhaisaheb, sometimes get some merger help. I, as a college student, had several Dhakka to Badri Mahel for getting help for my collage fees. Finally through the help of a Parsee lady working for Abbas Bhaisaheb I got Rs.5/month scholarship. However after six month this was also stopped. As poet Faiz Ahmed says, “Dekh hain hosle ham-ne parvardigar ke!”

Kothar is a Lena-Bank, it is not a Dena-Bank.

If any one of you know where to approach for financial help please let me know. Please do not go on hearsay. First have some test-case yourself, if it works, write to me

The link of this Gujarati article is now removed. Perhaps many Bohras called in for clarification.

Asghar Vasanwala.

An old Bohra lady went to Saifuddin Bhaisaheb, he was soldier bazzar karachi's amil. Her husband was dying of cancer in jinnah hospital, Jinnah hospital is govt hospital and is free, but not all medincines and other requisites are available, you have to buy and provide them. She was asking 1200 rupees for medicine from muasaat (charitable account). Amil not only did not give her a penny, but insulted her by saying that she has not paid her dues, with what face does she come to ask for help. Her husband an old man was a fanatic bohra, who was ready to abuse and even fight if you utter one word against jamat or anyone.

The old woman was sent to us by some one in soldier bazzar jamat. we sent her to Dr Sadiq Alvi, and she was provided with the medicine. I heard that Saifuddin bhaisaheb was removed from soldier bazzar due to some embezzlement or so. The old man died after a while, his wife is still alive cursing dawat na dushmano, forgetting who helped her. I am afraid if she dies, her burial will have to performed by one dushman, because dawat will ask for safai chitti and she will have arrears so she cannot be burried by dawat.

I am not saying that bhai saheb didnot refuse the young man. What i am saying is that the bhaisaheb could never have said that you will die anyway so we can't waste our money. Its just GM up to his old tricks of mixing up reality with fiction. "Min sharr -il Waswasil Khannasil lazi"...

@ Ghulam Mohammad

I trust you do not stay in India or dear sir you are acting naive because anybody living in India knows that 94284 & 21951 are not 2 different numbers I feel you have deliberately distorted the number.
