Whilst Urs is celebrated / commemorated by Sufi mystics and bohras to mark death anniversary of their saints / spiritual leaders. It is, as I understand, for holy communion of their souls with the Creator. However, can anybody please shed some light, why Urs of Imam(s) are not celebrated or commemorated by Bohras. Instead it is only for Dais, Mazoons, Mukasirs & other syedi's. I do understand that martyrdom of Panjetan Pak (AS) is commemorated but after Imam Husain (as) not other Imams death or martyrdom is remembered.
I remember asking this long time back to a Jamea educated and he explained that martyrdom of Imam Husain (as) is all encompassing and that when we mourn for Husain (as), it is like we mourn for all Imams.

You got the answer but you still keep asking the same question.... because you want to listen to what you want to listen.Aymelek wrote:Whilst Urs is celebrated / commemorated by Sufi mystics and bohras to mark death anniversary of their saints / spiritual leaders. You want to listen to something you can counter question and create fitna... You want to listen to something which becomes a topic for you to lash at bohras.... That is why you keep asking the same question.

Br. Baskin,
In my post I was not opposing, criticizing or challenging the customs neither is that my objective. Just wanted to reason out the logic for rule of exception.
Bohras have a practice of distributing niyaz on various auspicious days for salawat sawab of Panjetan Pak (as) and other Dai (s) or pious persons. However, no niyaaz or salawat sweet is distributed for Imams after Panjetan with the exception of Imam Jaffer Us Sadiq (as). I remember my mom making delicious kheer puri on 22nd of every hijri month.
Just seeking reasons....anyone...

Br., the reason your Mom made kheer puri is because it goes well with small masalawala potatoes. Some people would make small shami kabab to go along. Some would put challah(silver ring) in the kheer.Only other reason I can think of is that your mother loved Ahle-bait.

Forget the Imams, even the milads of the Prophet (s.a.w.) and Mola Ali (a.s.) is not celebrated with even 5% of enthusiasm and fanfare as compared to the urs of 51st dai and birthday of 52nd dai. The abdes wont even remember the dates of these auspicious events but the events relating to 51st and 52nd dai is on their finger tips. No matter how much the abdes shout from rooftops but the fact of the matter is that they hardly remember the real torch bearers of Islam and their life revolves around saifee mahal only. Whatever little they do with regard to the Prophet (s.a.w.) and Ahle bayt is only cosmetic in nature and that too because it serves as an avenue for a show of strength to the outside world and is a monney spinner, the regular Muharrum tamashas at different locales is a glaring example of the same. This sect is definately not Islamic but a cult centred around the 52nd dai and his family and ancestors.Aymelek wrote:However, can anybody please shed some light, why Urs of Imam(s) are not celebrated or commemorated by Bohras.
