Before anyone decides to pursue this, please note that I offer the same services for a discount of 50%. Please let me know through PM. I accept paypal, google money, money order, cashier's check and pretty much all other forms of payment. As of right now, I cannot accept your dua as payment. Our website will implement that feature in a future generation.

Re: Namaz for money?
this is shia ithna ashari website, first I thought it is a joke, but then I came to know they are serious.
I can understand some body can read Quraan as fathiya and make dua if some gifts are given to them, but how can some one read namaaz is out of my understanding.

Are you saying that you didn't visit the link and you automatically thought Bohras ? Is Old Age catching up with you ?

Interesting topic, I contacted the site after seeing this post yesterday and I asked them what is the basis of this. apparently, there are hadiths that discuss this issue so it's not baseless so as to say. They posted an article yesterday with four narrations which are deemed correct in accordance to sayid khoie. As far as ithna ashari shia scholars are concerned, sayid khoie is very strict in analyzing hadiths, and rejects most of the narrations due to his method of conservative strictness.
Being an ithna ashari myself, I don't know how reliable ithna ashari scholars are according to the Bohras but I did notice that nahjul balagha is posted on this site and that was written by a well known ithna ashari scholar (sayed shareef al radhi)
Here is the article link http://makeupsalat.com/home/2014/02/18/ ... ulbait-as/
I also know that bohras are a part of the Ismaili sect and 3 out of the four hadiths are narrated by imam Jafar al Sadiq the fourth Hadith is narrated by Musa al kazim which I think Bohras do not take as reliable or as an imam at least.
I do not know much about the bohras and an eager to learn so if some one is willing to teach me I will be an attentive student.
I have studied the ithna ashari religion for 20 years now and if any one has a question about ithna asharis I would be glad to help as well
I hope nothing I said was offensive God know my intention was not to offend any one rather it was just to inform and be informed inshallah

Re: Namaz for money?
I looked at the article. Not one hadith actually talks about paying money for salaah or fasting. It says I can fast on somebody's behalf but I don't think I can extrapolate that to mean that I can pay somebody else to fast on behalf of somebody. Here is the article link http://makeupsalat.com/home/2014/02/18/ ... ulbait-as/
Re: Namaz for money?
You are correct about what you said about the hadiths. However, there are other hadiths that say if you are doing anything on someone's behalf you can take money. I will collect these hadiths for you and post them as soon as I can.
Re: Namaz for money?
Dear Hadi,if you are doing anything on someone's behalf you can take money.
If you are taking money, then you are not doing it on somebody's behalf. You are only doing it on your own behalf.
Truly doing it on somebody's behalf would not involve any gain for the doer, except what Allah sees fit.
Re: Namaz for money?
I see your point from an ethical stand point. However, there are a few issues that do arise. It is obligatory on the eldest son to make up all the lapsed prayers of his parents, so if a persons parents died and the parents missed for example some 20 years of prayers, it becomes difficult to fulfil that obligation physically. And Allah knows that humans are greedy in the sense that they won't pray 20 years for someone's lapsed prayers for free so tge son can pay some one to help fulfil the obligation. I still owe the readers the hadiths I promised I am looking through the books now and will translate them ASAP.
Re: Namaz for money?
no one can pray namaz on behalf of some one else, period.
there can be billion books and thesis on this topic, but logic and common sense is biggest of all.
Allah clearly says "no one will carry burden of some one else"

Re: Namaz for money?
I do not know of any such obligation in Islam. A son can pray for his deceased father, but cannot make up for his father's missed prayers, and does not need to. Allah says in the Quran, do not make things difficult for yourself. There is a famous story about the night of meraj when the prophet (saw) was given 50 fard prayers and he got them reduced to 5. We cannot increase the number of fard from 5. So making up for your father's prayers cannot be an obligation. It is obligatory on the eldest son to make up all the lapsed prayers of his parents,

Why society and culture heaps all kind of responsibility on oldest kids?
I have seen most of time younger one gets away.
Re: Namaz for money?
also another point to ponder; how come if an old person cannot perform haj we send some one else to do haj for him or her. Secondly , even at the time of haj if some old person cannot do the tawaf, he or she can hire a palki (a small seat carried by 4 men) and he or she can sit comfortably on this seat and the palki carriers do the tawaf with the person sitting on the seat.

Re: Namaz for money?
i apologize for the late response. I checked the books for the past week and most of the scholars say this about the subject.
the fact that money is allowed to be taken for namaz is based on two introductions. The first one is the fact that you are allowed to pray on behalf of a deceased believer. (by allowed i mean it is mubah. so in this case the eldest son is not involved if it is accepted that it is obligatory on him to fulfill the past prayers of his parents)
the second introduction is that fact that it is permissible to take money for anything that is mubah. and the hadiths on this are beyond numerous (just grab any hadeeth book that talks about transactions)
hence if praying on behalf of the deceased is mubah and your allowed to take wage for any mubah action, than logically you are allowed to get paid for praying on behalf of someone else.
