GUYS THIS IS HOT NEWS!! Manchester Jamaat Provides an AU

The one and only free public forum for Bohras. The focus of this forum is the reform movement, the Dawoodi Bohra faith and, of course, the corrupt priesthood. But the discussion is in no way restricted to the Bohras alone.

Yes - Anjuman-e-Hamidi (Manchester Jamaat) has annual reports on their website.

On April 21st, 2005 one of our members - Simpleton wrote the following in a message board titled "Another Kothari Collections scam- For Saifee Hospital, Mumbai" (you have to scroll to page 4 to see that post. Anyways to quote Simpleton this is what he/she had posted:
Find out if ANY of our Jamaats all over the World have ever published an Income and Expenditure Statement to show how they have managed your funds in "running" the Masjid(s) etc.
Is it possible that finally we get to see an Audit Report. I mean Financial Statements of a Jamaat are finally here. I know you guys are thinking what drugs am I on. Heck, I thought the same thing when I saw it.

So here is the Scoop - The Manchester Jamaat Anjuman-e-Hamidi does post on their website their annual report. Goto their main page http://jamaats.mumineen.org/manchester/ and then click "happenings" and then "Reports" and you'll see - Annual Report 2003 and Annual Report 2002.. WOW!!

So I put on my auditors hat and with my 8 years of audit experince go to read it and guess what...

- Neither of the Annual Reports have a spec of financial information (What a surprise!!)
- There is a ton of mumbo jumbo about who the trustees are, who is the auditor, the bankers, how its a charitable organization, Food Festival, Recreation and Leisure... but not a spec of Financial information.

- But here is the kicker!! The report posted on the website is incomplete. When I opened up the 2002 annual report the following Table of Contents shows up on page 1:

ANJUMAN-E-HAMIDI (MANCHESTER)

Legal and Administrative Information .....2

Report of the Trustees .....3-5

Report of the Auditors .....6

Statement of Financial Activities .....7

Balance Sheet .....8

Notes forming part of the financial statements ......9-12

However, they only post the first 5 pages on the website. Pages 6 through 12 are not provided. I mean who are they trying to Fool !!!

So there you have it folkes an audit report from one of our Jamaats - its what we've all been waiting for. I'm sure after reading this - they will soon take it off their website after all who will question them. For anyone intersted in having a copy while its still up there its a word document so you can save your own copy or feel free to email me and i'll share my cherished copy!!

Would like to hear thoughts / comments from other members..

This is NOT hot news. Jamaats in the United Kingdom as well as Dawat-e-Hadiyah are registered as charities and therefore are required by law to submit accounts which the public can access.

I will be posting links to some of these accounts shortly.
