Kalim
If you and his son are very good friends then you should know where they live in Pune. Saifuddin Insaf has given the complete address in his posting.
Why ask for any proof if you are such a good friend you should refute the claim by Saifuddin Insaf instead of asking to provide the proof
A GOOD FRIEND SHOULD HAVE THE FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE AND SHOULD BE STRONGLY REFUTING THE CHARGES INSTEAD OF ASKING PROOF
I hope you are not in the same category of people like UDAIPURRESIDENT who questioned Saifuddin Insaf's article about the Aamil and article in newspaper and when asked, he has disappeared (hopefully Kotharis imprisoned him in isolation for writing without Raza)

Re: New Fatwa
Please do not get carried away. I did call my friend this morning and Sh. Firoz Bandukwalla is alive but in the hospital. The Bandukwala family is very prominent. S. Insaf may mean some other person with the same or similar name. I do not think he is lying. But to maintain credibility he needs to provide some sort of proof.
Re: New Fatwa
Kalim,
Does your friend's father, Firoz Bandukwala, reside 14, East Street - Pune 411001?
Mr Insaf claims that Firoz Bandukwala's sons live in the USA. Is your friend in the USA?
If the answers to these questions are both 'yes', then the similarities are uncanny. Only then does Mr Insaf have a case to answer.
I grant you that he could be mistaken either in name or address? However, I think you could easily refute his report by answering those two questions in the affirmative.

We the progressives criticize the actions of the Syedna. By the same logic, why do you come to his defence, let him come and answer!
Are the rules different for you and others! Stop being hypocritical and stop giving gaalis if you have any modicum of culture.

Re: New Fatwa
Porus: The answer to both your questions is "no". That is why I said it could be someone else in question. I just want to verify the facts.
We have to careful here. When someone says Firoz Baduwala from Pune they will assume Sh. Firoz Bandukwala, who is still alive. Hence, I just want S. Insaf to clarify who he is talking about. A couple of people told me that "Sh. Firoz Bandukwala died and there was some trouble in Pune". So I called and verified. No such thing has happened. Most likely they learned of this "news" from here. Hence, I want to make sure that the wrong people do not get into trouble.

Dear Brother Kalim,
Dear
Yes you are right. There are two Firoz Bandookwala in Pune. One is in city and another was in Pune camp. The gentleman who died was Firoz Kalimuddin Bandookwala, around 80 years old, staying at 14, East Street, Pune camp, opp. Post Office.
He was a rich man loyal to Kothar and was a philanthropist in his own stride helping poor Bohras especially for education and also paying Kothar in dollars as he was a US citizen. It is because of his illness for a year and staying alone, that he could not go to the Amil Abdeali and pay his wajebat.

Re: New Fatwa
Amil Abdeali has a lot of leeway to implement his rule of terror because his brother is the son-in-law of the Syedna. Now that explains the immunity and the long term enjoyed by him in Poona. His father and he has had an unbroken tenure for the last 45 years or so.

Re: New Fatwa
It is very important to know the authenticity of this event, I think Br. Insaf has given enough details for it and it is now on those interested to research more. More importantly if such thing has happened bohras should condemn it ,if not openly, atleast on this board. Please do not try to justify the wrong act.
Don't we cry on the dealth of I. Husain(as) and how inhumanely he was deprived of kafan and burial. On similar lines if a "muslim" is denied the same, why can't we not raise our concern (atleast in our minds).
