syedna's forthcoming visit California tthis weekend

The one and only free public forum for Bohras. The focus of this forum is the reform movement, the Dawoodi Bohra faith and, of course, the corrupt priesthood. But the discussion is in no way restricted to the Bohras alone.

spot,
bohras have better access to karbala and najaf than even many of the iraqis..let alone shiah from other sects
such preferrential treatment sounds pretty unconvincing. Can u produce any evidence for the same or its just cooked up to make a point (as usual)?
granted, this way do to saddam bitterness toward iran in general...but the same applies for syrian, pakistan, india, etc.
what actually do u want to say here?

burhan,
no actually i went to karbala in '92 after the first gulf war. different friends in our jamat go throughout the years since. my relatives in pakistan and india went last year as part of a tour group. my relative in the us just come back one month ago this year.

its not like this is some unheard of comments...bohras constantly go to iraq on a yearly basis.

Spot,
the first gulf war was already over when you went there and things had settled down so u still didnt prove anything.......and are u trying to suggest that the american soldiers identified bohras by their libaas and gave them special treatment??

Mumu,
No sympathy for yazeed...doesnt matter how old he is...its unfortunate that u guys are too blind to see thru...GOD BLESS YOU...u should thank the reformists that they are working to liberate you from the clutches of Shaitan inspite of the fact that u abuse them and make fun of them....u come on the board and use words like diapers, jahannam, jalso, laanat, piss, d**k etc ....if this is the teachings of ur "maula" which u r proud of then I am afraid to say that ur "maula" is leading u straight to hell.

This is for all my slaves. I am formally announcing myself on this board. Henceforth my word will be the final word on all topics. If I say that I am a ..... than that is it. I will hear no arguments or else I will send laanat on all my slaves.

Burhan,
"the first gulf war was already over when you went there and things had settled down so u still didnt prove anything"

huh...i am US citizen...and the iraqi soldiers welcomed me...not because i was a us citizen (which we were warned not to admit) but because i was a bohra. and to say it was over is a huge understatement..yes the bombing raids were over.

"and are u trying to suggest that the american soldiers identified bohras by their libaas and gave them special treatment?"

no..i am saying the iraqi soldiers and people recognized us as bohras and as followers of the dai. while at the same time

Spot,
You mean that the sunni iraqi soldiers gave special treatment to bohras who follow the dai whom the sunnis themselves do not follow!!!...you probably are trying to say that sunnis acknowledge that bohras are following the true version of Islam which the sunnis cannot do cuz of lack of a proper leader (dai) and so they should respect bohras who are more fortunate than them and are on the path of Allah!!

Dear spot,I'v met over 100 people who had been to karbala and have narrated me stories which stand in stark contrast to your POV...

In all probability, the soldiers gave u the alleged preferential treatment due to ur US citizenship OR may be u r a beautiful young girl (ur username not withstanding).

burhan,
i hope you realize that a majority of the soldiers are shiah themselves and not sunni.

secondly, it because in '92 that i didn't tell the soldiers that we were us citizens that we were allowed in at all!

thirdly, i was with a group from the us and not just me. the same is still done today. regardless of the us.

Spot,

Can you explain exactly what special treatment you got as a Bohra from Saddam's government? And exactly how you had "better access" than others to the shrines "except at the border"?
