Navroz Mubarak
Navroz Mubarak
Navroz Greetings to all shias on this board.
In the Fatimid era, Navroz was celebrated by the Imams and later in history when the Imams lived in Iran, this holiday became an important Ismaili holiday.
Navroz has been celebrated over the centuries in Persia and other parts of the world on the first day of Spring which coincides with the spring equinox. Navroz means new day and the celebration is not only for the physical signs of rebirth upon the arrival of spring after the long winter months but also a spiritual renewal is celebrated. Families and Jamat get together to make new resolutions for the coming year as reminders abound to seek to improve the material and spiritual life of every individual.

Re: Navroz Mubarak
Isn't Navroz the Parsi New Year?
Aren't Parsi's fire worshippers?
Are we shias now supposed to celebrate pagan festivals?

Re: Navroz Mubarak
What is wrong with observing the Pasi new year?
We observe it because it has a lot of cultural significance for us. Muslims in Iran all celebrate it, but no one calls them fire-worshippers.
Some Muslims celebrate Christmas with their Christian brothers, does that mean they actually are Christians?
You dumb ppl and your ignorant comments.
Re: Navroz Mubarak
Well, I wouldn't be surprised if Ismailis wear saffron and celebrate ram janmashthami in ayodhya or krishna janmashthami in mathura.
