Mother Teresa's Prayer
Mother Teresa's Prayer
Mother Teresa's Prayer
People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered;
...Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
...Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
...Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
...Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
...Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
...Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
...Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
...Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.
Powerful message of Mother Teresa inscribed on the wall of her Children's home in Calcutta.
Re: Mother Teresa's Prayer
I've often found differences between the prophet Muhammed (saw)and Christ to be overwhelming:
Jesus says:
"let those be free of any sin, cast the first stone"
Prophet Muhammed says:
"Do not stone the adulteress who is pregnant until she has had her child." After the birth she was put into a ditch up to her chest and the Prophet commanded them to stone her."
Interesting comparision!
Re: Mother Teresa's Prayer
Look at what happened to Jesus Christ and look at what happened to the prophet Muhammed (saw)
Re: Mother Teresa's Prayer
anjami,
let's face it there is no comparision between christ & muhammed!
Better yet - there is no comparision between the followers of Jesus and the followers of sunnah as laid out by bukhari and others.

Re: Mother Teresa's Prayer
burqan,
go get a pill or something, cause you are beginning to go the hafeez way, shitting through your mouth.
I beg of you, please, at least sometimes try to make some sense.
Re: Mother Teresa's Prayer
qurban,
would you prefer the hadith where God tells the Prophet he has forgiven an adultress her crime for taking off her shoe and using it to give a thirsty dog a drink from a well?
Come now, using the hadith to indict Islam is utterly ridiculous. For everything you find, someone can find a tradition saying the opposite. The ahadith are simply a magic mirror that allow one to see the reflection of Islam he wants to see most. They say a great deal about those who believe in them, and absolutely nothing about the religion itself.

Re: Mother Teresa's Prayer
Kharain,
The is NO comparision between prophet Muhammed & Jesus Christ.
Prophet Muhammed's own followers project him as a Barbarian :
Per anjami:
"At least we follow the prophet, so if he was a barbarian, then we will be barbarians, at least on the day of judgment we will be absolved of any wrongdoing. "
While followers of Christ believe that Jesus was the most Perfect man to walk this earth.
And, Guess what:
It Shows!
Re: Mother Teresa's Prayer
>And, Guess what:
It Shows!
qurban,
Not sure what it is you're referring to or trying to say here.
What "shows" and how?

>While followers of Christ believe that Jesus was the most Perfect man to walk this earth.
And followers of the Prophet feel the same. What's your point? If you're trying to say that all Christians are peaceful, friendly, and progressive, then you need several long history lessons to disabuse you of this notion.
If that's not what you're trying to say, then I'm afraid I'll need a more detailed account from you before I can even begin to grasp your meaning.
Please oblige.

On the note of comparison between the Prophet and Jesus, I'll have to beg out of that particular argument. As a Muslim, I revere and honour them both for their respective contributions to humanity, and it would be a gross dishonour to each of them to try and belittle the accomplishments of the one in order to exhalt the other.
Re: Mother Teresa's Prayer
Why? Are you dense?
What I have said is clear?
There is no comparision!

Re: Mother Teresa's Prayer
burqan,
you are right, just the way there is no comparison between you and one who can make even some sense.
