Moula Ni THAALI...

The one and only free public forum for Bohras. The focus of this forum is the reform movement, the Dawoodi Bohra faith and, of course, the corrupt priesthood. But the discussion is in no way restricted to the Bohras alone.

Indeed the thali system has made many of them lazy. Secondly with the thali coming in many small families do not cook as it becomes sufficient for them for 2 meals. thus if a visitor comes in they do not ask him to join for food as they have limited stuff, earlier visitors used to be invited, something cooked for them also but now many do not want to take the trouble of cooking.
You can pay for 2 dabbas if one is not sufficient so there is flexibility.
Tomorrow the girls in our community will grow up without having knowledge of cooking. as it is house work and cooking is considered 2nd grade for girls in the community due to their school / college / tuitions / madarsa and finally job engagements, Many get married without knowing to cook and have issues later in the kitchen after marriage. Thali is a relief for such.
I am not against Thali system, its good and a boon to many but should not be forced upon. Its good for those who cannot afford due to poverty OR cannot cook due to age/illness, bachelors.

take thali if you really need it or just dont, if Amil force you for this break his teeth how hard is that?

keep it simple

thali is good for old age people and those who really cant be bothered to cook 7 days a week.

Going to work is such a pain and hardship.. how nice it would be if along with thaali, they give all living expenses as well. So much of time of bohras would be saved and spent into more deeni activities...
