Why is the bohra Imam, STILL in hiding. Is he afraid that some f16s are gonna bomb him?
Maybe he took some sleeping pills and can't wake up? Or perhaps he doesnt exist at all and is one big myth used to keep the kothar up and running.

Imam does not feature much in a Bohra's life. He has historical significance which gives a Bohra his identity. Focus of Bohras is the Dai. He is their Imam.
This makes Bohras no different from Nizaris. While there are differences in interpretation of the Ismaili doctrine between the two sects, the fact that one Imam is Ghaaib and the other Haazir is not going to make any difference to either community.
Truth of any doctrine will not be based how prosperous, "modern" any group of people are.
So, I think it is pointless continuig discussing merits of one sect over other. Discussion has more merits if Imam's concept is discussed purely within the community's own terms of reference.
Bickering is not the way.

Porus
I beg to differ!
The best REPRESENTATION of one's faith are the people themselves.
So, yes - Islam is JUDGED on basis of nationhood or society that it creates & fosters.
How good is the Wahabiyya/Salafi creed can EASILY be judged by the Saudia nationhood or society that EXISTS today!
Same applies for the other FIQHS of Islam!
I UNDERSTAND your reticence to this yardstick because the Mainsteam Islam and Bohras would FAIL miserably and VERY correctly so. If that is the case then - WHAT exactly do they follow?
MOREOVER, Islam & Quran are based upon TWO things:
1) Imam
2) Sunnah
If you follow Imam then it has to be Imam ; it cannot be a mullah usurping as an Imam and, suggesting as you have done - that it is the same thing! That is a JOKE!
Maybe, being an atheist & a believer is the SAME THING to you - that is!
If you follow SUNNAH and literally, then you are cannot TURN around and claim that - you follow the quran when it(literal Sunnah) has been EXPOSED as rancid & blasphemous and SERVES as basis of your fiqh & shariah.
Of course, in the end run - you can chose to, as you have done, to HURL slander against the Ismailis and that is FINE too!
After all - what else can you do?

Like you said:
"The best REPRESENTATION of one's faith are the people themselves."
Bohras represent Bohras and Nizaris represent Nizaris.
Currently, both communities are a joke, though, for different reasons.

Porus
You are an easy call to make but then so is the Mainstream Islam!
You lived up 100% to the expectation made in the previous post:
QUOTE:
"Of course, in the end run - you(porus) can chose to, as you have done, to HURL slander against the Ismailis and that is FINE too!
After all - what else can you do? "
UNQUOTE!
sigh! What else can you do?

The Imam does not 'hide' because he is afraid of the people. That point is made very clear in Rasail Ikhwanus-Safa.

Better a bohra or Nizari , joke or no joke, then the jihadis who are in for some more bashing if the latest news from the White house is anything to go by!
