"1984"

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087803/

A 'must view' for every Bohra, especially the Progressives.

An uncannily accurate and ghastly portrayal of Dystopia. In a terrifying scene suggesting a parallel with how Progs could be brought to the Abde fold, our Protagonist, Winston Smith, succumbs to torture and to get relief, begs punishment to be dished out on to his dearest Julia rather than on himself. He is released but becomes a zombie.

Brilliant portrayals by John Hurt as Smith and Richard Burton as O'Brien.

There are several similarities to 1984's totalitarianism with that of Daawat. Such as:

1. Big Brother, a Kothar equivalent.
2. Newspeak, a new language to ensure slavery, is Lisaan-e-Daawat equivalent,
3. Ministry of Truth, engaged in re-writing history to glorify Big Brother and the Party (Sayedna and Kothar)

Better yet, read the original book by George Orwell. Absolutely enlightening. Inspiration to take action against totalitarianism everywhere.

Boom,
Our choices sounds similar, I too love Blood Diamond :)

Remember the scene from "BRAVEHEART" where the girl ( Catherine ) ran back and handed over the rose to the boy (Gibson), at his father demise ?
To me, its one of the touchy and beautiful scene ever.
